Dinwiddie County VA250 Committee

AMERICA: MADE IN VIRGINIA – HONORING 250 YEARS OF OUR STORY:
Dinwiddie County is proud to participate in Virginia’s American Revolution 250 (VA250) commemoration. As we prepare for 2026, our local committee is developing programs and events that highlight Dinwiddie’s role in America’s founding and connect our community with this milestone moment in history.

OUR PARTNERS:
We are grateful to collaborate with organizations dedicated to preserving and interpreting Dinwiddie’s past:

  • Dinwiddie Historical Society
  • Pamplin Historical Park
  • Petersburg National Battlefield

Their expertise and support help us bring meaningful educational and commemorative experiences to the community.

A Revolution Begins at Home:
Dinwiddie County and the Fight for Independence

The Dinwiddie County VA250 Committee has developed a mobile exhibit that explores what was happening in and around Dinwiddie County during the American Revolution. Designed to travel throughout the county, the exhibit brings local history directly to the community. It is currently on display at Pamplin Historical Park, and this webpage will be updated regularly with future locations.

Through engaging visuals and interpretive content, the exhibit highlights why Dinwiddie County mattered during the Revolution and illustrates how local residents experienced and responded as the conflict unfolded around them.
