Five Forks Visitors Center: Reopening Under a New Partnership
A New Chapter in Preservation and Community Engagement: Dinwiddie County is proud to announce a historic Partnership with the National Parks Service that brings life to the Five Forks Visitors Center. Through this collaboration, Dinwiddie County is providing part-time staff and maintenance support to allow the site to reopen with expanded hours.
Thanks to this local-federal partnership, the Visitors Center will now be open Friday through Monday from 10am to 4pm, giving both residents and tourists more opportunities to explore this nationally significant Civil War site.
Why It Matters: Five Forks is more than just a battlefield – it’s a place where past meets present. This partnership marks the continued commitment to preserving Dinwiddie’s unique role in American history, while creating meaningful experiences for today’s visitors.
