
Join Pamplin Historical Park for a day of special programming honoring America’s 250th anniversary. Activities include:
- 10 a.m. – Round Ball to Rim Fire: Learn about Civil War weapons with a musket loading and firing demonstration.
- 11 a.m. – Soldiers of 1776 vs. 1861: Compare the equipment, food, medicine, and technology of Revolutionary War and Civil War soldiers.
- 1 p.m. – America 250 Presentation & Cannon Salute: Celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary with a special presentation and cannon firing.
- 2 p.m. – Breakthrough Battlefield Tour: Explore the site of the decisive April 2, 1865 battle that helped end the 292-day Siege of Petersburg and led to the fall of Richmond.
Throughout the day, living historians will portray soldiers and discuss military life, equipment, and camp routines. All programs are included with regular paid admission.

ical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier is a 424-acre historical campus that features world-class museums, antebellum homes, a National Historic Landmark Civil War battlefield, a slave life exhibit, educational programs, and special events. Pamplin Historical Park’s 424 acres encompasses The National Museum of the Civil War Solider, Tudor Hall Plantation, the Field Quarter, the Field Fortifications Exhibit, the Military Encampment, the Battlefield Center, the Breakthrough Trail (and other trails) as well as the Banks House and the Museum’s Gift Shop.
