Mark your calendars! The Dinwiddie County Fair is back!

Join us October 16-18, 2026 for a weekend packed with unforgettable fun and excitement for the whole family! Get ready to enjoy thrilling carnival rides and games, jaw-dropping live shows, toe-tapping live music, mouthwatering fair food, fascinating agriculture exhibits and more!
 
Fair Hours:
Friday, October 16: 6pm – 11pm
Saturday, October 17: 11am – 11pm
Sunday, October 18: 11am – 6pm
 
Prices:
Adult (aged 18 – 65): $10
Seniors (aged 65+): $7
Child (aged 5 – 17): $5
Under 5: Free

These wristbands are for unlimited rides, good for one person during the listed session. The carnival will feature at least 15 rides, to include: ferris wheel, rok n rol, bear affair, round up, happy swing, musical chairs, carousel and more.

All registered participants will receive two tickets to the County Fair for participating in the show. Registration closes October 8, 2025.

Dinwiddie County Fair Scarecrow Competition:

Rules:

  1. All scarecrows must be built from scratch by the entrant (no commercial creations allowed.
  2. You can use any materials you like to build your scarecrow, except pre-molded or commercially available face masks ARE NOT permitted
  3. All Scarecrows must be made and displayed in good taste. Any entrant designing their scarecrow to cause deliberate offense will be disqualified. Please keep it family friendly and no political related entries.
  4. Scarecrows must be 4-7’ tall as measured from the ground to the highest point of the entry.
  5. Scarecrow must be able to be securely attached to the outside of the livestock show arena on corral panel and/or placed in bucket of dirt provided by fair. It must be constructed to withstand weather.
  6. One entry per group/individual.

and Friday October 17 from 11 AM-3 PM at livestock tent area.

County Fair Policies:

Chaperone Policy: All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult (age 21 or older) at all times while on fairgrounds.
 – Unaccompanied minors under 16 will not be permitted to enter the fair without an adult chaperone and may be asked to leave the fairgrounds if found without proper supervision.
 – Adult chaperones are responsible for the conduct and safety of the minors they accompany.
 – Fair staff and security personnel reserve the right to verify the age of any attendee and may request identification if necessary.
 
No Pets Allowed: For the safety of all guests and animals, pets are not permitted on the fairgrounds. Service animals as defined by the ADA and animals participating in fair sanctioned shows are welcome.
 
No smoking: Smoking is only permitted in designated smoking areas. Please look for posted signs to locate these areas.
 
These policies will be strictly enforced throughout the duration of the fair to help maintain a family-friendly and secure environment for all visitors.
