With four major interstates, two Class 1 rail providers, multiple airports and quick access to the East Coast’s deepest natural port, markets all over the world are within reach of Dinwiddie County.

Interstates 95 and 85 intersect just north of Dinwiddie County. I-95 is the primary north-south highway serving the most populated cities on the East Coast from Maine to Florida. I-85 begins just north of Dinwiddie County and provides access southwest through Charlotte, North Carolina to Montgomery, Alabama.

Dinwiddie County is home to the intersection of CSX and Norfolk Southern’s railroads, running both north to south and east to west.

The Port of Virginia is the deepest natural port on the East Coast. This port accommodates the world’s largest vessels with further expansion plans underway. 100 miles to the Port of Virginia from Dinwiddie County. The Richmond Marine Terminal is part of the Port of Virginia, and offers three barges in rotation for a frequent, streamlined service between ocean and inland terminals. The Richmond Marine Terminal is just 26 miles from Dinwiddie County.
